Discuss I can't believe i did not think of it sooner in the Electrical Wiring, Theories and Regulations area at ElectriciansForums.net

think i' got some of them from the freebie jar at elex.

The only criticism i have on the OP layout and maybe im been picky but i like to stick to the BS regs ...... the 2 flexes exiting the junction (time-clock and up to top of pic) have not been suitably restrained, they should IMHO use stuffing glands to anchor the flex or the use of mini trunking to stop other trades and users snagging the wires by accident and having pulling forces been applied to the connections, chopping a surface wire under a termination plate like so does not look professional and i would have any apprentice of mine be task to re-do that part again ..... dare i ask about the T&E through the plasterboard hole?

This is all being enclosed inside a kitchen cupboard so should be safe. The t and e is an 'in case' spur as there was talks of a water softenerthat may or may not need power

Well at least he didn't use the earth as a phase conductor, unlike the twonk I came across a few years ago that wired several hundred council houses, the guy at the council had a dicky fit when I reported it.

There is no excuse for it. I had a client recently who wanted a light switch changed to metal, i looked at the existing and the earth had been used a strapper so i told them no go and they went mental saying it would be fine etc. Had to walk away evetually
