so I will fire away.


Im working on a house at the moment that has 2 rings. one up and one down. the one downstairs has the kitchen on it so I am going to put a new kitchen ring in which will leave three rings in total. upstairs ring,downstairs ring and kitchen ring. as the kitchen ring is one the downstairs ring currently I obviously need to joing the cables that were done so via the sockets previously so it remains a ring as such. I was going to use Junction boxes but I was wondering if I could use these instead

would I just connect one to each end of the cable making sure each one is put in the same or .......

Im working alone mate, I sound worse then what I am I think. Its just if your unsure its best to ask I find. I know I could pop that lot into a JB but id sooner use these as theres less chance of a scress coming loose and causeing a fire, especially as there going to be under the floor boards so fairly unacesable plus its faster as less labour intense.

So one on each end ont he cable and then into a chock box.

any chance you can let me no if I can get on the training forums so I can ask question after question

Mate, I think the lads are getting at the fact that you shouldn't be "working" unsupervised as a trainee

If the connections are going to be under the floorboards and inaccessible then they should be maintenance free and Line connectors are only maintenance free when derated to 20A (and in a line enclosure) which is pushing it on the CCC for a ring leg. A chock box is not classed a part of an MF assembly.
Possibly try Ashley 32A MF junction boxes.
