Discuss LINE launch the BS5733 maintenance free (MF) kit for Junction Boxes in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

more like a kitten compared to me and tony, TC.

I know how to do married joints, and I didn't have to google it!!! [Smug mode]...

(learnt it roughly 25 years ago when doing vehicle wiring).

There is the 6mm connector. I have wondered about sourcing a 10mm screwless. Do you guys think it's worth it?

I would think that a "continuous" earth is different to a "maintenance-free", but connected one, so I'm not sure how the regs would stand regarding using an MF block for joining 10mm earth cables.

I have used the line enclosures with wago's for downlights a few times now, and would definatley consider these new MF ones if a JB was to be in a ceiling or under floor etc but sometimes you just have to use what suits the purpose, i still like to use the hager j803 on under cupboard lighting because it sits flat on top of kitchen units so can not be seen whereas the rounded profile of the line product or the depth of a wago box would make it visible

10mm screwless!!! YES PLEASE!!!

I will have some!

Just ordered another big old load of black egg kits and some 41A screwless....Excellent!!!

If you want to pop a couple of 10mm screwless in F.O.C. I will give you an honest review.

I love them!!! Been using a combination of Hager MF junction boxes and Line black eggs today, know for sure which is easiest!!!!

Just a quick question, are the ten and fifty pack 'LINE 32A JB kits' in the forum shop maintenance free, i.e. do they include everything necessary for MF?

The packs contain the enclosures and cable ties for normal use. If you want MF, just order the MF kits which go with those enclosures.

The 32A kits include the lever connectors. Although screwless, these are not MF as defined by BS7671/5733 (though some of my competitors may try to pursued you that they are).

For BS5733 you would need to use our MF pack which is a connector that does upgrade to MF. It is currently the only connector that meets the requirements.

If you are after 50 MF junction boxes then please PM your details and I will work out a prices for a MF kit.

Thanks guys. I thought that would be the case. Line, I've PMed you. Perhaps you could offer packs of full MF boxes on your site? For me, the whole beauty of the line range is being able to use them anywhere!
