megger 1552 weird display

Hi

tried to do a Zs at a house today and my meter displayed

"fus"

NEVER seen this before. Not in the manual. Not the fuse symbol because thats ...different.

Can anyone shed light?

The funny thing is I have not used it since it was calibrated last week.

Have you checked the internal fuse this should be in the battery compartment along with a spare

Hi oldtimer, no not looked at it, as the meter still functions correctly. In fact in the last five minutes have checked it at home (no trip Zs test).

Just perturbed about getting a message on a screen of an instrument I paid alot of money for that does not seem to be documented.

It might as well have flashed up a 1/50th of a second subliminal message "the marshans are watching you"

There are 2 fuses, an easy access fuse in the battery compartment and a swine of an internal fuse that Megger charge around £200 to replace (seriously).

Did you try IR or continuity?

yes, IR and cont. both work fine. Will try all tests at another property today.

Maybe it was a "blip" but I don't like blips especially when they're not in the manual .....
