they say that the music you listen to reflects your mood...this year ive been listenin to a hell of a lot of dubstep,i prefer the more vocal stuff but the dirty bass vibrating my house seems to clear my head,on a night out i like the electro/house scene though

I cannot stand dance music anymore although throughout my twenties I was out clubbing 3 times a week. I now prefere real music with real instruments although I have a very varied taste.

Even Download looks good this year.... havent been since they stopped calling it donnington, but theyve got AKKER/DAKKER, Rage, Them Crooked Vultures, deftones, Billy blummin' Idol, Motorhead, SAXON!!!!, Ratt, Stone Temple Pilots and even aerosmith would be worth a look, and airbourne who, if you like ac/dc you will love. I might have a gander at Reading as well.

Been to download for the last two years and it's been pretty good, all my m8 are going again this year for the DC, was hoping to go to grozrock in Belgium have a look at the line up it's really good for punk.

I think my mates band (rejected) are hoping to play groezrock this year, I might check it out. Normally can squeeze onto their bus.

EDIT Just had a look at it, a few bands on there I didn't even know were still going. 24th headliners look tidy, except for blummin Sum 41 what are they doing there? Saw AFI fairly recently, they've still got it. Saw Pennywise, Glassjaw and Agnostic front back in the 90's, sort of line up I would expect Sick Of It All and even The Exploited to be on.... noted by their absence.

Might have a look at it if anyone I kno is going

Seeing alkoline trio next month I think, girlfriends choice!. The only band I really want to see at groezrock is BAD RELIGION!!!!! Haven't heard of your m8 band do they place Camden?

No way I remember Rejected from the eighties, got some of their stuff on vinyl in my loft somewhere!.

We're going Leeds this year, watching all the rumours of REFUSED reforming very closely but could turn out to be just that. Will be the first year we're not at download so will miss RATM and Deftones but too much on and they sold out of campervan tickets before we got chance. Will sneak a few gigs in instead though (including Pennywise actually Pennywise!)

Mainly metal for me but lots of other good stuff at Leeds fest I'm looking forward too like Weezer, Klaxons, Crystal Castles. Can't wait for the lockup stage announcement, had so much fun in that tent last year.

Ha I think we are thinking of different Rejecteds! I reckon they've been down London way a lot - they are still in the 'supporting band' kind of stage, but have gone on some big bills. Bad Manners, Misfits, Exploited, UK Subs and much more they have been on tours with. They are always over in france, belge and spain and are getting pretty big over there. I am also matey with 2 other newport punk bands you may have heard of - the now defunct Cowboy Killers (if you havent heard of them I will send you some MP3s they are top) and In The Shoot (except replace the word shoot for another word for poo poo) who are still going strong, dunno if you've heard of/seen any of them.

Where are you watching the Alkaline Trio mate?
Let me know what they are like, I'm not really into concerts or festivals, but I wouldnt mind seeing them (will have to do until Tool come back to the UK):D

How was it? Caught them on Saturday night in Birmingham, was a good show but missed most of Wilhelm Scream who seemed really good.

They were good but he's no Jim :(, they played everything I wanted to hear but with jim as lead singer , it was like some kind of sick torture :D and whats up with the whale wars crap. Bad religion should be better in August. Didn't catch any of the support bands stayed in the pub next door to the venue:) The pit was good :D

Wise move, it was £4 a pint in the academy so wish I'd have tanked up a bit more before we got there!

Bit of everything really, would mostly say i stick to the metal scene though! Metallica, Avenged Sevenfold, In Flames etc.

Cant beat a good bit of house music though! :D

Hi Lenny,

Good choice in music, great groups.

AC/DC Warmachine is good as well as Thunderstruck and I do like TNT.

The track The Pretender by Foofighters is also brilliant.

It does help to get through the day with some decent music in the background. I guess I must be showing my age.....

Best wishes

Rex

Like your list Lenny!

Also have ya heard much of Muse??

Matt Bellamy the lead guitarist/singer is hugely talented.

Although foo fighters at wembley was probably the best concert ive been too!!

Thanks Mr F, need to keep the rabble out :D:D

Anyhoo, bringing things back to topic...
