Doing fault finding when you have asked all the right questions only to find out later the householder had had a go himself but was to embarrassed to tell you. Mind you at least they have to pay for 3 hours instead of 1.

Once found a handyman fixing a big brass plaque to a beautifully finished red brick wall with what he thought was adhesive. Turned out to be expanding foam...all over the wall...and still carried on, expecting it to stick. More than a pet hate for him, methinks.

I've been to a job this morning and found another.........Customer called and said that the RCBO for the lighting in the garage kept tripping, went to investigate and found that i couldn't remove the screws on the metal-clad switch, customer then popped his head round and said "you wont get that open....i've put thread-lock on the screws"....."why" i said......"cause you never know" he replied

When I read this, I could just picture the customer as one of those Harry Enfield characters (Only Me)

Working with sparkies who think experience is everything; missing the point that you want both skill and experience. If you have done something wrong for 15 years, you just got really good at doing it wrong!

eg A spark who doesn't do the cable calc for a factory install, and gets it wrong. Then when I explain why it is not compliant and suggest how to fix it (change breaker as Zs was out). I get a -------ing from him, his approach is to change the Zs on the test form. His line was "This is how experienced electricians do it"
He even made ME sign it off. So I did, with his name.

We had an insurance spot check a few months later, oh how I laughed when it was picked up!

I should probably get over that, but really "£$%!ed me off.

got called to a rental property whose landlord said that some of the downstairs lights aren't working. got round there and asked lots of questions, any DIY or other trades been in etc no nothing they said. having investigated the lighting ring found that the loop link was missing between 2 of the points, wtf??? landlord said customer hasn't paid rent for 2 months cos no lights.

guess people will do anything to get out of paying.

The foil being left on the top of a margarine tub after it is used for the 1st time annoys me sooooo much, god only knows why it just does?

That is all.............

never knew that ------- had teeth.well you live and learn, i suppose.

What I really hate though is, why so many things are made so that you need an assortment of about 15 different types of screw driver with both slotted, posi, philips heads and probably hex heads and f knows what else including alen keys just to terminate one cable..usually Chinese......although you've gotta love those Chinese babes......especially the ones without teeth..weird...and of course Tel how would they eat without teeth? soup?

couls always end up with a fit thai bird with a pr*ck and b*ll*cks.

I wonder if anyone has abbreviated the spelling of it on the sign, welcome you are now entering *unt Thorpe please drive carefully.

pet hate customers houses with junk mess crap every where can't work without having to move some useless that which they're never going to use.
turning the mcb on and it going bang and wishing I'd tested it first........joking lol

and then there are kitchen fitters, wood butchers, and worst of all, barring plumbers, spreads that manage to fire their slop into your toolbox even when you've stashed it out of their way.

Your right, if you mean they tend not to drive at break fast speed, cutting every other driver on the road up doing so!! It's called Maturity!! lol!!

except when the buggers drive at 25mph in a 40 limit and it's too narrow and bendy a road to overtake.

Just about had my fill of fog lights. Front fogs just do my head in. Why use them, they make no difference when you are above 20mph. As for rear fogs, well that's just stupid.
Of course no fog around but in rain, well its dangerous.

Nutters.....argh

No you getting old men and middle aged men mixed. I mean the ones that do 70mph in every lane dabbing the breaks on about every 10 secs.

that's usually sales reps in suits. a meerkat would make a better driver. then again, a meerkat would probably be a better person than a sales rep.

Peter Bloody Andre, Katie bloody Price, The x factor, poncey food, ugg boots, people putting their feet on the seats on public transport, dog owners who think it's ok to leave their dog crap, AOL, BC Rich guitars, Fender basses, plasterers, carpet fitters, Famous grouse whisky, one of my sisters in law, the drug dealer who lives down the road from us, chavs, queues in supermarkets at this time of year, Come to think of it...supermarkets.

fender basses??? bit harsh.

common rail diesel engines. people who ask you to take your boots off when working on their (bloody) cream (bloody) carpets (bloody).bloody.

People who are famous despite having no discernable talent eg Kerry Katona (can anyone tell me what the point is please) intolerance of any description, liver, steak and kidney pies, dentists, feet, karaoke nights, the pub over the road having lock ins, fiddly light fittings, DIYers who claim to know more about electrics than me, cowboy bodges, hangovers, Gangnam bloody Style, christmas songs, being told to have a nice day/christmas, proteus CUs,

people who ask you to take your boots off when working on their (bloody) cream (bloody) carpets (bloody).bloody.

The answer is NO! I wear safety boots for... SAFETY! I'm not going to fanny around with electrics whilst providing a nice path to earth via my bloody feet!

Oh, and...

- feeling like a --- because I've pulled through a length of 3 core thinking it was T+E
- American pro-gun nutters who think that the answer to school shootings is to give guns to teachers
- the price of bloody petrol/diesel!
- cheap plastic enclosures which crack and splinter when you knock-out the holes
- tailgaters
- people who can't be arsed to indicate
- muppets who flash you for overtaking them when it's a 60mph area and they're doing 40mph!
- computers which stop responding when you're midway through a huge forum rant about things that really **** you off!
