Right been on the Grolsch most of the afternoon, getting more and more depressed over the state of our industry, I know it's been discussed on another very good thread before, but my blood is boiling and I haven;t got any beer left, Camerbloke has scoffed most of it (only joking Son)
Out of interest I looked up Amendment 3 and the scams response to courses NICEIC, ELECSA and ECA are running a workshop (corporate buzz word) for £130 plus, Jesus if that isn't a license to print money then my name ain't Pete999. If you cant read a book then you shouldn't be in this business, oh that includes food, big deal, can't we boycott these blatant scams, it's blinking robbery.
Another thing that made me mad was a thread yesterday, I don't recall who posted it but it was an advertisement for Sparks in London, I think from an Agency for Sparks (must know how to terminate SWA) I mean it isn't rocket science is it FFS?, Going to get my bum smacked for saying this, but don't they teach you how to terminate SWA on these Electrical Trainee courses? I'm glad I'm retiring in the near future, I mean how can you call yourself an Electrician if you cant terminate a SWA, MICC I can understand, it's been out of vogue for a few years, but SWA. They will be asking for "sparks with experience in stripping PVC,PVC twin next"
These Electrical Trainee geezers aren't a new thing, I can remember when I was just out of my time my boss said to can I show this new chap how to build a NSH didn't think much of it at the time until I found out he was an Approved Electrician and I was a mere Electrician, that was 40 years ago and Electrical Trainee willy has his own building business.
Look I'm going now before I get into more trouble, sorry if I have covered old ground, I feel better now, oh found some more beer.
:wheelchair::wheelchair::rant:
Oh by the way I now have a dodgy valve in my heart to add to my woes.
