It HAS to be connected to the CU somehow, by some means, no other way it can trip

I've disconnect and isolated the living room light, switched back on rcd not tripping all other lights back on now.

and whats the meaning of not ensuring electrical isolation/seperation of both live conductors when dead testing on a circuit?

the lighting mcb was isolated, cant isolate full board as my dad is on oxygen so needs sockets on

im going to take up boards tomorrow and rewire

rewire as in re wire, replace a run of cable between light fittings and switch cus of ir fault
