Curious about how these work - LED’s behind the knobs on my gas BBQ, except there’s no energy source apart from the passing LPG - anyone have an idea?

To be clear, there's piezo igniters on the burners but I can't see any ongoing source of current

Magic, witchcraft

Or if they only light up when the burner is lit then it could be the little thermo-electric jobbies like you get in old swimming pool boilers that don't use a mains feed.

I bet there is a battery involved somewhere

I'm going to go with Daves suggestion of magic or an imp on a treadmill inside the BBQ.

In the unlikely event that turns out not to be the case then a battery hidden somewhere.
