Hi, I was ironing and lost power to the bedroom and bathroom. All outlets and lights. I checked the box and reset breakers still no power. I called out the guy who comes to do electrical "new home still under warranty " and he came in bedroom opened light switch, i took these pics. He did something in
this box and lights came back on. This doesn't look safe also why changing light switch fixed this?
Prior I had plugs in kitchen going out every time I used the dryer. The guy came out not sure what he did to fix that issue.

Thanks

It looks like they have used the "stab" connections and not the terminal screws. I'm not US based but I understand these are wholly unreliable but one of our Stateside members may help. @Megawatt or @RetiredNY.

I have to agree with @westward10 that back stabs are not very reliable and also all bathrooms requires their own 20 dedicated circuit, so your problem should not have effected the bathroom. The dryer should have been on its own dedicated circuit also so I can’t understand why the dryer would affect the kitchen. In your picture I see 2 wires on the switch and another picture of 3 wires on the same switch. You probably had a bad connection in the switch or loose connections in the wiring. Kitchens also require a dedicated circuit. If I was you and your home is still under warranty then you need to talk to someone regarding your situation. Show them this reply. Good luck and welcome to the forum.
