Hi everyone, first post.
I'm looking to retrain after being made redundant and I'm just comparing the courses offered
I'm looking at tradeskills4u who offer a course and 2 of the components are C&G 4141-01 and 4141-02
I've had a look at other training providers who don't offer this course...
Where can I buy a proper car jack other than the bloody useless toys on ebay, you know the ones they are about as big as a roller skate and just about as much use, these things of which I have 2, one failed dramatically going down like a shot rat, the other has a mindless want to invert itself...
I carried out an eicr and no circuits have RCD protection. There are 3 dbs all have federal elec type 3 mcbs in. Would you recommend changing each db and rcd only the sockets or rcbo everything as its all T&E less than 50mm. One db is lighting and power the other is convector heaters and hand...

According to the NICEIC who posted an advertisement in 1966, they make a point to householders that it take 5 years to train as an Electrician, the same as it does to train as a Doctor. The organisation also introduces measures to ensure that rural district councils are aware of the benefits of...

I don't know if there is another thread on this? But I can't find one. I got an email the other day saying that directional halogen bulbs (which includes GU10) would be banned/phased out from 1st Sept 2016. I must admit I know there were murmurings a couple of years ago about EU legislation...
Just sat watching repeats on Dave of all the specials, I really miss Clarkson, hammond & May.
I wish they could have sorted it out before it got to the stage it did !!! such a shame that this programme ended how it did.
I bet the bbc would give anything now to go back to before that event...
My customer's house has two consumer units connected in parallel. The first one supplies several ring circuits and already had an RCD. The second supplies several lighting circuits, washing machine, microwave, boiler and immersion heater - until I upgraded it, there was no RCD, just a 100A...

I was installing a new control panel in a pumping station kiosk the other day. Sometimes I am required to `enter` the DNO supply to insert the earth cable on what is normally a TNCS system. To my surprise the supply was a single core with the armourings supplying the system earth but no neutral...

2 of the 3 quotes I've had so far for PV have recommended Solax with a 20y insurance backed warranty.
I believe these aren't classed as premium drives (for whatever reason) such as SMA and ABB.
Can the premium cost be justified?
Thanks.
Just done an EICR today in a small warehouse, should get the remedial work as i know the customer. Anyway, does anyone have any other ideas on how to sort this mess out? There was a conduit through box there until it got smashed to bits at some point. Conductors aren't damaged. It doesn't help...
Hi,
I've been approached by a builder who has requested several of his jobs are certified. He has used another electrician to carry out the work who is unable to certify his own work.
I've suggested an EICR report as I'm unable to inspect cable runs in permitted zones along with other...
