I can tell you what I think.. but it's not particularly well informed. :)

Heat required may damage insulation.

Twisting the conductors may stress them.

I wouldn't trust Half this lot with a soldering iron never mind that set-up. :D
 
...I don't know...potato bag tying wires...locking up girl bands...rubbing stuff on door handles...them Russians are a rambunctious bunch...
 
The whole process seems a bit extreme and time consuming to me. Have they not heard of push fit connectors? Give me a few Wago lever connectors and a pair of cutters and let's have a race!!!
