Discuss Help need to change ceiling light in the The Welcome Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

I've taken all the information in and this is this conclusion I've come to as to it being fitted correctly. (See pictures)
I really didn't like the the sounds of it going wrong.
If still not correct I'm going to put the old fitting back and wait for when my downlighters are being fitted

looks good from where i'm sitting. just cut those spare choc block ways (next to the 3 reds) off.

I thought the light was in zone 3.
It's the downstairs bathroom and in the few years I've been here I've only showered a couple of times in it, it's mainly used to was the dogs and guests can use it to 'off load '
Now I can wire it correctly I had better get a zone 2 light then I suppose. Better safe than sorry.

Still a mess! copper exposed on connections!

Maybe best to leave electrics to some one competent IMO.

Also how did you carry out safe isolation before you started "messing about" with this light fitting?

:)

Can anyone advice me as to where I connect the wires from the single light into the new chrome light. On the chrome light there is a connector that has three openings but the old single has wires coming out of four different holes .On the chrome there is L E N.On the old one the 3 L get fed into one hole two black get fed into a hole and a single black gets fed into a hole. The E gets fed into a hole just above the rest of the wires (see photo )
Re-read the responses from Westward carefully all the information you want is there.
