They are asking for 2394 C&G within 12 months of signing up, good grief cant i just do the job i have been doing for 30 years without all this damn expense and courses.
Well surely you knew the rules before you signed up?
I havent signed up for anything yet,
My apologises then, what exactly is your point then?
All the scams expect you to have a I+T qualification, to prove your competence. Don't NAPIT do there own version still?

I think NAPIT do their own version of the corset. Maybe that will be a easier and watered down version....just a thought :smiley2:
Until you no longer need to with NAPIT, then its useless. May as well bite the bullet and pay up for a proper recognised qualification.
Im not sure all the scams ask for it, its rapidly getting to the stage where by i cant afford to set up on my own
I know NAPIT, ELECSA ans NIC do, not too sure about STROMA or BSI
I will have a word at the job centre to see if they will fund it

well then please keep such thoughts to yourself.
no need for the Napit 2391 here...
or anywhere else for that matter...
Yep I agree Glenn, should do the proper CG version. But the OP has implied they are competent in my view with their 30 yrs experience...my train of thought was that a competent spark wanted the path of least resistance to get signed up. Would not advocate the schemes courses for the lesser experienced.

I have an issue with £600

True. But it does all start to get expensive. Although I dare say the crappy versions are not much cheaper.

We've all been there Rich...and had to do it. After all, money makes the world go around, even if it does make most of us dizzy as firk and mad as a hatter.
Should hopefully get them free as im out of work right now.
Personally i think its a bloody joke they let electricians join the "national association of professional inspectors and testers" without the frigging qualifications to do it.
I thought it was 2395 Napit required within a year.
C&G change the bloody numbers every day, sigh, too many fat cats dipping in the working man's pocket
