Discuss New Megger Multitester line? in the Electrical Tools and Products area at ElectriciansForums.net

Hi DaveyD,
There are 3 proving units avaliable for the VCT-GS38.
1 Step: Kewtech Kewprove Proving unit @ £58.00
2 Step: Metrel CS2090 Proving unit @ £59.50
5 Step: Megger MPU690 Proving unit @ £85.00

We are expecting stock of the MFTs in very soon, Megger are being vague about the quantity and of the models we will be receiving. I have being promised that we will be one of the first companies to recieve them due to the large number I have on back-order.

SO....... hopefully next week (fingers crossed!)

Thanks for your reply TM and the information - you have some really good deals. Its ridiculous IMO that Megger will not confirm a shipping date. I would have thought they would know. I need one for next week but would rather have the cheaper 1710 than the 1552.
Kind Regards, David

I think it has to do with this being Megger's first real production run on them. I am sure they will have loads and loads of orders for these and like anything, it is diffcult knowing how many they can do and in what time when it is a brandnew product. I know they are as keen as anyone to get them out there as soon as possible. We are all hoping for next week.....

The MFT1710 is of course lower cost than the MFT1552, but is also in certain ways a different tester. The big thing with the new range is of course the 2 wire loop test which the MFT1552 doesn't have. The MFT1552 does however have other advantages over the 1710 like Automatic RCD testing and a 1000V insulation test.

Last year Megger had a special wholesalers offer on 1552 1553 BUT 2 days after my wholesaler friend got the Email he was told they couldnt supply as they didnt have in stock

Must be a night mare being MR test meter or his assistant having to answer the phone to disgruntled people due to MEGGERS inability to have a releae date or delivery date IMO Id be happier if Megger came out and said " We will be launching on 15th April!" for example rather than just sayind We dont know when we will ger your order to you Nintendo ,sony microsoft manage it for Millions

I was gutted. Wanted to order 3 of the 1720's but nobody could give me a date. Rang a company called Brewtime who shipped me 3 brand new Fluke 1654B's for the very next day. No connection to seller etc.
