OSG says 2m max, but doesn't refer to regs and I've read 537 and nothing to be found. So:

Got a customer wants to fit a lovely big range cooker in between two windows, perfect fit and will look great. Nowhere for the isolator to go except on an adjacent wall, around 4m wall length / 3m diag from appliance.

Whats says we?

I says put it where you can.
The OSG is only a recommendation, if it doesn't refer to an actual reg(?)
Maybe note it as a deviation from the OSG

edit, too slow!

The 14th and 15th editions had Regulations for how far away a Cooker Control Unit should be from the cooker. 6' and 2m respectivly.
The 13th just said that a CCU may be used and should be readilly accessible, the 16th and the 17th have no specific Regulations for cookers.
