Anyone know how to get jib membership if self employed? according to website you need a qualifying supervisor to sign you off? costs involved to join ect...

and what grading would you get with following:
2356nvq3 2330 l3 2391 2382 2377

not sure if i would ever need it, only ever lost one contract because of not being jib member but with qualification route changing im hearing more and more about jib membership becoming a necessity

You need a sponsor to sign your application.

Qualifications-wise you would be eligible for Approved Electrician grading, however I believe that you must first possess Electrician grading for at least two years.

OR be over 22 years of age.

I went straight for my approved status at 23, and got it no probs.:)

They removed that a couple of years ago. It now only stipulates two years.

Unless that was simply a mistake in their literature.

ah, great stuff ill ring tommo find out and just get scheme provider to sign for me - thanks

just checked Napit website and must of had 2 successful site assesments for them to countersign (which would be 2 years) so thats ok

the thing is, whats the point of a solicitor or policeman signing your JIB form. you could be the worst sparks ever to grace the jobcentre, but how would they know? All they can do is sign saying that it is you, and not someone else applying for JIB registration with your name.

I got my ex Boss to do mine, and he wrote a letter outlining my duties, responsibilities and on site/workshop training i had received whilst with the company.
