Recently changed a board, I think that the tails outer sheathing should go right up to the main breaker but the 25mm tails were being pigs to bend. I'm open for constructive criticism to improve in future, also the spare ways may be used shortly - the client is having work done so spares have been left in accordance with prospective additons

Hi

How is it fixed back to wall just look like its not really supported on top left hand side.

There is wooden batten behind it, I was intending to put that board in a different place but they had the gas redone before I could install it, which somewhat limited the options, messsy compared to the majority of these other examples but hey...

Before and after, may of got it a bit neater if I had more room and wasn't standing so high up a ladder

Still at least it's labelled (the marks on the fuse boxes were mine working out what was doing what) and has all the cpcs connected, quality way to cure your rcd problems by removing them

Bgb 416.2.2 !
May I suggest some 50mm x 50mm PVC trunking, I'm also not a big fan of zipping all t+e together as they can get a bit warm as it were.
Just my observations ;)

@ ses, is that cable tray in a loft! Love it lol

Jobs I have been called out to...

Just a few jobs I have been called out to, not that exciting really but some for you to look over.

1st pic - my shower is not working, I wonder why???
2nd pic - went to do a eicr, and no bonding to the main water, lol it's next to the board
3rd pic - storage heaters not working, my response to the client, well I'm not even touching it unless you clean in
4th pic - son lamp not working, the reason, ballast
5th and 6th pics - does my board need changing, well it's a little outdated me thinks

Yeh i know, what the picture doesn't show is the half melted dry line box only being a 25mm..

In the end I fixed a batton in the loft area and put in a deep surface box as well as changing the switch of course lol..

trunking

I devised a nice way of cabling in trunking making it alit easier to put covers on. And to add cables in future

Very true dan especially on a staircase. Which I suspect is probably an escape route, we recently did a job in PVC conduits but the made us put galv saddles on for this exact reason. Looked mmmmmmmmmmmmm nice ish lol

Are you pulling down my pantyhose? DBS swap in brown and blue............. Sounds very similar to what I would say........I promise darling I didn't search that on the Internet.:-------::-------:

they had a garage converted into a kitchen and wanted the DB in a cupboard instead of under the stairs, so extended all the circuits 2 metres and added a new DB. why question everything? are you bored

:banghead:

I wasnt aware that the cablw had to be secured at all in the trunking.. but thanks for the info i apprreciate that.

Must have taken u a while to drill that lot lol, not picking holes but if that's fire alarm should that not be p-clipped in the trunking as opposed to cable tied?

It's to give the fire alarma bit more integrity if there's a fire, you think, the PVC trunking will melt but the cable will stay in place, also stops the fire brigade strangling themselves when running around in a fire

So the alarm cables stay intact and out of the way of the fire personnel, but all the power & light T&E still will try to garotte and electrocute them. Shouldn't everything be P-clipped then?

Cables in trunking above door ways should really be p clipped yes but we have recently done a job and got round it by putting loops of galv all round band inside the trunking and take all the cables through it. A lot faster and saves p clipping individually which is a pain in the :-------:

heres one of mine
had to move 10m from ceiling height in one room and ancient collection of boards to top of cellar stairs at accessible height with 6m submain, i think it looks smart
