Adding an extractor fan off of a 6A lighting circuit.
Installation instructions specify a local isolator (as I would anyway) so 3 pole isolator will be used.
Switching L SL and N however should I have an FCU upstream of the live?
It would be 6A fused as specified which seems pointless the RCBO...
I'm working in a warehouse and replacing the old fuse boards with a new 3 phase board.
The board will be sitting directly above the buzz bar im not sure if I need to put in an isolator in between them to isolate the 3 phase board?

Hi guys, after your thoughts on a problem i have on a panel at a sand quarry feeding the main sand pumps and de-watering screens.

Because the gas hob is only ignition needed for electrics can I just wire it to the 6mm cooker junction box and the isolator will control both
Or do I take it off the ring
Hi, I'm trying to buy a Proteus isolator the same diamensions as the two that we already have. The current two are mounted and cannot be turned off to be opened without severe disruption to find out the rating.
So, I would be grateful if someone could measure the diamensions of one you may...
Recently been to a site with a 3month old hot tub install that had been done by another sparks, with the IP66 rotary isolator just 650mm from the edge of the Jacuzzi. It is possible to be partially immersed in the Jacuzzi and lean out to operate the isolator.
Would you consider this acceptable...
EICR observation - Electric shower does not have an isolator (pull cord or switch). Circuit can be isolated and locked off in the consumer unit which is in the nearby airing cupboard. (This is 1st floor flat).
Is there a reg that says a shower should have a local isolator?
My customer calls the DNO today to ask for an isolator (he wants want to do things properly and is worried about a fuse pull as he has a smart meter!?) he gets passed from pillar to post, in the end gets through to a department who state that they will not fit an isolator but will come and pull...
How would you code a cooker isolator switch mounted within the cooker space, I.e directly above the hobs?
It's a metal faceplate mounted flush on metal splash back.
Hello all
I am currently re wiring a flat which has a damp problem in the kitchen at the rear. I will be installing a 6" extractor fan with a pull cord on it to help reduce the damp. The fan will be supplied from the lighting circuit. I am aware that you need a 3 pole isolator when it comes...
Hot tub in a garden next to a wooden summer house.
I need to add an isolator.
Ideally it would go on the side of the summer house as the CU is just inside but that puts it closer than 2M of hot tub (isolator is IP65)
The next option is inside the summer house but I'm less keen on that as the...

Hi, I just bought a house with a consumer unit which works fine but the isolator switch has been moved to the opposite side. It would have originally been on the right and has been moved to the left. It's clearly labeled with stickers etc but there's a molded on/off symbol on the right.
Would...
