Discuss New house - does the CU comply to the current regs in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

A new build wouldn’t have channelled wires as the cables would be clipped direct to the fabric of the building then boarded over.
If the cables have capping over them then without knowing any other installation details such as insulation in stud walks which could make it reference method 102 or even 103 , I would say method C for capping or direct clipping.
Oval conduit enclosing the cables then maybe method B.

There’s not that much difference between them in terms of ccc, life’s too short to be worrying about reference methods. :)

5 seconds if it’s feeding a second DB. 0.4 if it is a final feeding sockets. Assuming TN system.

Method B could be if cables down to C.U. in bit of trunking and put down as most arduous condition, in oval conduit or has classed capping as method B.
Circuits, not RCD protected maybe cables over than 50mm of surface
or capping to comply with reg 522.6.204 (iv) I can't see the other methods used.

IMHO - if there really is 10mm swa into the metal CU that's probably the only circuit to qualify for high integrity position, pending what's been done in the shed. Rest of it will be "cables in walls" from CU, surely ?
