Discuss Domestic Installer in the Electrician Courses : Electrical Quals area at ElectriciansForums.net

well theres no confusion from me as far as the title is concerned:

THERES NO SUCH THING AS A CHUFFIN `DOMESTIC INSTALLER`......thats it!!

its an out n out lie manufactured, spun out and sold to an unsuspecting audience by scams hell bent on taking cash for fake titles...

so called `domestic installers` are nowt but half way house, half arsed, cowboy wannabees that are nowt but a danger to themselves....and others...

the amout of times that we have had to go round correcting shoddy, incompetent and downrite dangerous `work` carried out by these charlatans....

Why thanks for that Glen, I thought when I originally posted that Old Glen would have the answer in his own inimitable way, I agree with you whole wholeheartedly mate, but couldn't quite find the words.

I'm the first toasty I don't know everything, I learn as well as the rest of us.

We all started somewhere did we not?

I may have a Nvq which some would say technically qualify me as an electrician, but I do not state I see myself as that, bottom line you started somewhere, what's wrong with me doing the same?

I agree these short courses are ridiculous but I also recognise that they are there as an introduction to the industry, I do not think they should allow someone to carry out work without being supervised, but that's my opinion.

`short courses` are a load of cac...

they neither offer proper training..nor in any way shape or form whatsoever prepare those that take them for industry.

in effect they are a con...the adverts for these shams make allsorts of extravegent claims..about how you can earn 55-70,000 a year...or tosh to that effect...

i dont know how many more times it needs to be said but:

YOU CANNOT BECOME AN ELECTRICIAN IN 5 WEEKS!!!

IF I HAD MY WAY ALL THESE SHORT COURSES WOULD BE SHUT DOWN....END OF!!

can we please, please get our industry back....

I agree totally. I train hard and am still training in effect, I don't agree with short courses allowing people to practice but I feel that people need some training to become interested in our industry.

They did exactly the same with driving instructor courses , promise everything and then nothing , its all just a money making scam ,,,
