never used one I have to confess.
always wondered with these, if we assume the inverter fails once during the lifetime of the system how do you stand with these, has the whole lot got to come off the roof in 15 years time to be replaced, with all the associated costs, scaffolding etc?
 
To be fair, if one of the of micro inverters fails then you will be able to identify it through the monitoring equipment.

As you say, though, it will take a scaffold erection and a day's work to put it right - the main reason why I'm cautious of using this kind of set up on anything but systems that absolutely must have it.
 
it's put me off so far as I guessed that would be it. If we say inverters will fail once in the systems life then if you have one fail once the scaffold is up you may as well do the lot I would think.

Fortunately not had any installs where these were really necessary yet.
 
Steca 2010 master and slave configuration will probably be the beter option for this as you will be able to use 3mpp trackers, the cost is considerably higher than a single inverter but cheaper than micro inverters.
