Is this within the regs? I can't get the thread of the gland through the box to get the banjo inside. I wanted to use the swa but if not will rely on one of the cores.

By the look of it that cable is going to be hanging on the terminations, I'm sure we don't have to tell you how rough that is. Why can you not enlarge the hole and secure the gland properly?

From that angle it looks like a wiska box, if it is then the SWA gland will fit properly and I think you can get brass earth connections designed specifically to work with these boxes.

What are you saying here, that the box is too thick to get the thread through and get the banjo on?? If that's the case you need to purchase a long reach gland, or fit an adaptable box below to the enclosure, and gland the SWA to that. Or is it that the hole size isn't big enough for the glands thread to pass through?? If so use a suitable cone cutter to open up the hole. BTW Piranha nuts make a much better earth connection that the standard Banjo job....

Having another closer look at your photo, it looks like you are using a plastic gland/fitting of some sort, so god knows what you're playing at here.... Anyway as it stands at the moment, you're installation does not conform with BS 7671...

Why not gland into a galv. Coupler then fit bush and banjo in box?

Am I right in thinking you have made the gland off into a plastic reducer of some kind that is then screwed into the box?
If so take it out of the reducer and gland it straight into the box.
Also looks like your sheath is split??

The thread does not reach high enough into box to be able to put banjo over. The gland is screwed into the screw thread of the box. I have removed the external crimp and cable.
